- Common physical signs of malnutrition in the elderly include- - underweight. 
- sarcopenia- complex metabolic syndrome of loss of muscle bulk and loss of general function with severe weight loss. 
- ankle swelling. 
- leg ulcers. 
- pressure sores on sacrum and heels. 
- infections. 
- muscle weakness and wasting. 
- weak hand grip strength. 
- postural dizziness. 
- low standing blood pressure. 
- poor balance and mobility. 
- difficulty transferring from sitting to standing without using upper limbs. 
- worsening confusion/delirium. 
- difficulty swallowing.
